And that’s a wrap, congratulations Mike’s Finishers on winning the playoffs, although the entire stands would have liked to see another game (we never want the season to end) you managed to pull it off in two with a 3-1 win Tuesday and 2-1 win tonight.
It seems only fitting that you have the first and second place team square off in the best of three final series and also that it cost the league more money in the fact that they have to provide two sets of jackets. With only two points separating first and second at the end of the season it is nice to both teams get to share in a winning season.
I don’t recall such a low scoring series, both games done within the hour, I would say that could be a record for slo-pitch which is a game that is not supposed to be about the pitching but we definitely had a great pitching matchup tonight thanks to Ann and Gwen, followed with solid defence on both sides.
Well done Dog Stop on your season win and well done Mike’s Finishers on your playoff win.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank your executive Anne, Ellen, Merle, Dianne, Teresa, Jackie, Karen, Kerry, captains and their crew Lynn, Tracy, Tanya, Debra, Roberta, Donna, Kayleigh, Gwen, Elaine, Gail, Diane, Karen, Kelly, Eva, Ann, Jodi, Julie, Jennifer, Amanda, Rosanna, Karen, Tamara, Bev, Mary, my helpful scorekeepers who allowed me to go to my granddaughter’s games once a week (Julie, Gay, Luanne and Louise) and our sponsors Artistic Expressions, Centurians, Dog Stop, K Design, Mike’s Matte Finishers, Sothebys, Vesta, and Watch Us Women, it takes a village to run the sisterhood.
We have been very lucky in our 33 years to have ladies step in to fill positions on the executive, some years it seems like a daunting task but the love of the league and a desire to keep it running seems to prevail in the end and we are thankful for that.
I love this league and all the support and friendships I have made and continue to make, we are very fortunate to be part of something that is bigger than all of us.
See you at the banquet.
Charlene
